Founder/ Artistic Director Joan Myers Brown  Across the nation and around the world, PHILADANCO is celebrated for its innovation, creativity and preservation of African- American traditions in dance. Founded in 1970 in Philadelphia by Joan-Myers Brown, PHILADANCO will make its Portland debut with their superb trained dancers performing works by pioneering choreographers such as Ulysses Dove and Talley Beatty as well as contemporary choreographers like Rennie Harris and Christopher Huggins.
