Since his first work debuted with the Houston Ballet in 1990 at the age of 20, Trey McIntyre has created more than 50 contemporary ballets for Oregon Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Houston Ballet, among many companies. Premiering in 2004 as a summer company composed of a group of America's most talented ballet dancers, Trey McIntyre Project immediately won over the hearts of audiences and critics alike at the major summer festivals, including Jacob's Pillow. Using classical ballet as the point of departure, Trey McIntyre creates emotionally charged dances that defy categorization, set to musical scores ranging from Beethoven to Beck, the Beatles, and Pink Martini. White Bird is proud to present the Portland debut of the Trey McIntyre Project with an evening of dances bursting with dazzling creativity and heightened physicality.
Co-commissioned by the White Bird/MKG Financial Group New Workds Fund.
