One of America's most versatile, popular and well-known choreographers, Lar Lubovitch has been cited by The New York Times as "one of the ten best choreographers in the world." In 2008-2009, his company will celebrate its 40th anniversary season with its first US tour in more than a decade. In his prolific career, Lar Lubovitch has choreographed more than 100 works for his own company, as well as work for Broadway, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and other major companies. Making their Portland debut, the 14-member Lar Lubovitch Dance Company will perform a memorable program of new and retrospective work that underscores Lar Lubovitch's passionate musicality and deep humanity.
