White Bird is excited to present the long awaited return of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Hailed as a “national treasure” by the San Francisco Chronicle, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago has been critically acclaimed for its exuberant, athletic and innovative repertory that inspires, challenges and engages audiences worldwide. The company’s 17 dancers perform works unmatched in artistic excellence by the world’s most significant choreographers. Treated to thunderous applause by the White Bird audience in 2005, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is devising a special White Bird program that will feature Walking Mad, an exhilarating, highly theatrical masterwork from Johan Inger, the celebrated choreographer and former Artistic Director of Sweden’s Cullberg Ballet. The evening will also include enthralling works by such dynamic choreographers as Ohad Naharin, Artistic Director of Batsheva Dance Company and Jorma Elo, Resident Choreographer with Boston Ballet.
