Muscular. Powerful. Driving. Fearless. Playful. Passionate. These are just a handful of adjectives to describe the movement of Hofesh Shechter, the Israeli choreographer based in London, now widely considered one of the of the most exciting and important new voices in the dance world today. A former dancer with Israel's Batsheva Dance Company, Shechter has assembled a group of 12 dynamic dancers and 5 musicians who will perform two works that are already hailed as masterpieces: his furiously energetic all-men's piece Uprising and his deeply personal and provocative In your rooms.
Hofesh Shechter Company is supported in part by the British Council and Arts Council England.

Hofesch Shechter
I attended the interestingly vague talk by Josie Moseley before last night's performance and we were encouraged to send you some feed-back about the performance. Here it is. I am ecstatic about this company! The performance reminded me of some of the early programs at PSU, years and years ago. Edgy and in-your-face and emotive and brilliant. The dancing was flat out superb. I found myself wondering how anyone could learn the choreography; it was so complex. Keep bringing the edgy to us.
