Known for its richly diverse repertoire and gifted dancers, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet made instant fans of the White Bird audience when it made its Portland debut in May 2007. This hugely popular contemporary ballet company is led by Tom Mossbrucker, a former star principal dancer with Joffrey Ballet and Jean-Philippe Malaty, one of America's outstanding ballet teachers. ASFB will return with an exhilarating program featuring a revival of one of Twyla Tharp's most celebrated works, Sue's Leg from 1975, an homage to the music and dance of the 1930's with music by Fats Waller.
The Aspen Santa Fe reconstruction of Sue's Leg by Twyla Tharp was made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts' American Masterpieces: Dance Initiative, administered by the New England Foundation for the Arts.
