Anouk van Dijk (pronounced A-NOOK VAN DIKE) is one of the Netherland's most distinctive and honored independent choreographers, and STAU (meaning "traffic jam") is considered her most dazzling creation, a huge hit at all the major international festivals. A confined square stage opens out to expansive, limitless space. Intimate, exact gestures become dynamic, spectacular movements as spaces shift and the relationship between spectator and performer becomes increasingly connected. Thrillingly interactive, STAU perfectly embodies the liberating spirit of our new series, White Bird Uncaged. As Uncaged moves from one venu to the next, from one experience to the next, the world of STAU is constantly changing, constantly evolving.
