THE BLUES PROJECT
Hailed by The New Yorker as “one of the most imaginative tap choreographers working today,” Michelle Dorrance founded Dorrance Dance in 2011 after devoting 30 years to studying and performing tap dance. She and her company will make their Portland debut with The Blues Project, an unforgettable evening combining nine astonishing tap artists with a live blues band, BIGLovely, led by award-winning musician and composer Toshi Reagon.
White Bird’s 15th Annual Outreach Project with Portland Public Schools, “The Blues in Tap and Music,” is made possible by a generous grant from PGE Foundation, with additional support from Autzen Foundation, Trust Management Services, Starseed Foundation, Regional Arts & Culture Council, Multnomah County Cultural Coalition and Portland’5 Centers for the Arts.
