After their memorable Portland debut in November 2014, the British boys are back with a compelling new program Life, featuring two works by acclaimed choreographers Pontus Lidberg and Javier de Frutos. Ten immensely gifted male dancers, guided by former Royal Ballet stars Michael Nunn and William Trevitt, will display great physicality and lyricism in an evening that takes a powerful look at life and death.

BalletBoyz based in London, UK was founded in 2001 by two former Royal Ballet, Principal dancers, Michael Nunn and Billy Trevitt. The all male company performs works by leading choreographers, as well as spending time teaching and educating others in dance, through classes, intensives, workshops, and film. ∙ BalletBoyz, based in London, UK was founded in 2001 by Michael Nunn and Billy Trevitt.
∙ Michael and Billy met at the Royal Ballet Upper School and joined the Royal Ballet together in 1987. During their twelve years at The Royal Ballet, between them, they danced all the Principal roles.
∙ In 2010 the co-founders retired from the stage and started theTalent, turning the company into an all male performing group, recruiting young male dancers from various backgrounds and worked with them closely, mentoring, and coaching them into a company of first-class performers.
∙ The BalletBoyz perform innovative works by leading choreographers, meant to entertain and take creative risks. They also educate by offering classes, intensives, and workshops to students of all ages and abilities.
∙ Michael and Billy have also aimed to demystify the dance world and creation process by posting videos and film of rehearsals online, as well as creating numerous arts documentaries for television, including a seven-part TV series for US network Ovation, co-produced by Nigel Lythgoe, called A Chance To Dance.

∙ The show Life. Is a two part program of newly commissioned works by internationally acclaimed choreographers Pontus Lidberg and Javier de Frutos. The show takes an elegant, powerful and often humorous look at life and death. Part 1 Lidberg’s Rabbit, plays with the ideas of loneliness and fitting in, and most of the dancers are showcased wearing rabbit heads. Part 2 is Fruto’s Fiction which involves the choreographer staging and fictionalizing his own death and his dancers’ reactions to it.
