LE GRAND CONTINENTAL comes to Portland!
This summer White Bird was proud to join the ranks of Montreal, Mexico City, New York City, and Philadelphia in presenting the West Coast premiere of Le Grand Continental, a contemporary re-imaging of a traditional festive line dance by Montréal-based choreographer Sylvian Émard. This exciting performance took place at Pioneer Courthouse Square on September 30, 2012 and brought together 160 participants of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. These dancers, ranging in age from 9 to 75, performed two 30 minute shows and and danced for an audience of 8,000 people.
