Camille A. Brown is a dynamic young artist and choreographer of the African-American version of A Streetcar Named Desire that opened on Broadway in spring 2012. An electrifying dancer, Camille creates theatrical work, incorporating sketch comedy and live music, that is strongly character-based with an eye to both the past and present. She and her dancers will make their West Coast debut with her new work Mr. TOL E. RAncE, a collaboration between her dancers, dramaturg Talvin Wilks, and composer Brandon McCune, which both examines sustained stereotypes of African-American performers and celebrates their humor.
