"
The American spirit soars whenever Taylor's dancers dance." - San Francisco Chronicle
White Bird's very first performance took place on October 7, 1997 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, and it was by the Paul Taylor Dance Company. Ten years and 76 dance companies later, this beacon of modern dance launches White Bird's 10th anniversary season with a program of Taylor classics and vibrant new work. A recipient of dozens of awards and honors, including the 1992 Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts in 1993, Paul Taylor is widely regarded as the world's greatest living choreographer. Join us for an evening that will unite Taylor's superb dancers with his famed musicality in choreography that "dazzles the eye and lightens the heart" (Detroit News). The company's performance will be preceded by extensive community outreach by the young, marvelously talented Taylor2.
